FAQ

Your Rehab Gear

Anyone can buy Your Rehab Physio Gear. It was designed for everyone to either use at home or in the gym. You do not have to be accessing this clinic to buy the bag. It can be used with any rehab programme provided by a physiotherapist

This should be outlined in the contents section of the Your Rehab Physio Gear. However, some colours of products may vary depending on availability.

  • Standard Bag (Medium) was designed with everyone in mind. It has a good mix of mini looped resistance bands that works for male or females, upper limb and lower limb. It is probably better for those that are new to the gym or to physio as it progresses up through the strength of the bands
  • Standard Bag (Strong) was designed with clients that already have a bit of a training history. The mini looped resistance bands and the long gym resistance band are stronger therefore it allows you to start with a weight more appropriate to you.
  • Deluxe Bag was designed to be longer lasting and with an element of recovery. It comes with fabric resistance bands that are machine washable, lighter gym bands for shoulder rehab, stronger gym bands plus a Hyper Volt Recovery Gun for after your rehab session.
  • Plantar Fascia Bag was designed solely with rehabilitation of the Plantar Fascia in mind. Therefore, it comes with slightly different products within the bag targeted at the specific issues we see when treating these injuries. Please see contents of Your Rehab Bag section for details.

While we always hope to send products out in tip top shape, each individual product is packed in their original packaging so some may slip through unnoticed. For that we apologise. You should contact us directly and we will replace the damaged or missing item free of charge.

We hold a small amount of replacement stock at the clinic for each item, therefore, if it easier please contact us directly and we can organise a replacement to be sent out to you. This service is not set up to buy online so would have to be done directly at the clinic. Alternatively, you can buy a similar product online to replace the item that has worn.

All items in the bag are classified as consumables and do have a shelf life depending on how well you look after them.

Here are some recommendations:

    • Balance pad: use in socks or bare feet as shoes are likely to rip the foam
    • Mini looped resistance bands: try to keep dry and avoid catching them on shoes when taking on / off as this can cause small rips to the rubber. You should also use the strongest band you can tolerate. If you use too light of a band, you are likely to over stretch the band which can lead it to break quicker. Remember bands can also be used together if all bands are getting too light. Combine colours to increase the strength i.e. green with blue, blue with black etc
    • Long Gym Band: avoid water, also avoid over stretching. If the band is too light then consider doubling up the band or purchasing a new slightly wider band to meet the needs of the resistance you need
    • Sliders: use the correct side on certain surfaces. The Padded side should be used on wood / walls / tiles, the plastic side should be used on artificial grass and carpet.
    • Foam Roller: avoid water
    • Lacrosse ball: avoid water but in general it is relatively robust
  • Your physiotherapist will show you how to use the equipment in the bag alongside your rehabilitation programme that they have put together.
  • We are working on creating a video database for clients to access showing how to use the equipment but also ideas of exercises they can do using the equipment.
  • We are also creating specific injury programmes that clients will be able to purchase for common injuries seen in clinic. These will be specific in nature for the injury but general to the population using it so as expected certain exercises may not suit everyone. There will be a monitoring sheet that goes with the programmes so you can adjust what phase of the programme will be most appropriate at the time of the injury.

That very much maybe the case, however time and effort has gone into creating this ‘Your Rehab Physio’ Gear Bag to cover the needs of most rehab programmes including both Upper and Lower Limb. It will save you time and effort to buy it all in the same place plus the equipment comes in a protective carry case that allows you to keep all the equipment together. There are net pockets at the sides that allow you to carry you water bottle / keys / phone together into the gym. Its design is to make life as easy as possible and to improve compliance with your rehab programmes therefore improving success rates of rehabilitation programmes.
